14 Jun
Summary
- A deliberate arson is suspected in a recent Delhi building fire.
- Three individuals tragically lost their lives due to the blaze.
- Four people have been arrested in connection with the incident.

A fire that tore through a five-storey residential building in Delhi's Tughlakabad Extension was a deliberate act of arson, according to police investigations. The blaze, which erupted around 2:24 AM on June 12, resulted in the tragic deaths of three residents and left eight others with burn injuries.
Authorities have apprehended four individuals in connection with the incident, including a 17-year-old girl. Initial investigations, prompted by CCTV footage showing a woman entering the premises shortly before the fire, shifted from negligence to foul play. The teenager reportedly confessed to targeting a scooter belonging to a resident over a monetary dispute.
Further questioning revealed that the 27-year-old woman who allegedly instructed the teenager acted on behalf of a 33-year-old man and his 27-year-old brother. Investigators now suspect a conspiracy was hatched to settle a personal dispute, leading to the escalation of the targeted act into a fatal blaze. The investigation is ongoing.
