- He confessed to strangling the child due to financial stress.
- The accused fabricated a kidnapping story to mislead police.

In a shocking incident within Delhi's Bhalswa Dairy area, a 25-year-old father, Deepak, has been apprehended for the murder of his 10-month-old daughter. The accused confessed to strangling the infant, driven by overwhelming financial pressures and the perceived inability to afford raising a second girl child. He attempted to conceal the crime by concocting a kidnapping narrative, reporting the child missing on May 24 after allegedly stepping out to buy groceries.
Investigators found Deepak's story inconsistent with CCTV evidence, which did not support his claims of leaving the house. Persistent interrogation led to his confession. The infant's body was subsequently recovered from a septic tank at the family's residence. Police have invoked Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, charging him with murder, and are also exploring potential family involvement or a drug angle related to the mother's claimed unconsciousness.
