Delhi Couple Busted for ISI Espionage

Delhi Police's Special Cell has apprehended a couple, Md Sahil and Sameera, accused of operating for Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) since early 2024. The couple allegedly provided crucial logistical support to handlers in Pakistan, including procuring and dispatching Indian SIM cards. These SIM cards were reportedly sent through Dubai to Pakistani intelligence operatives.

During the period of 2024 and 2025, the accused couple is believed to have sent eight Indian SIM cards to Pakistan. In return for their activities, they allegedly received approximately Rs 30,000. The investigation was initiated following specific intelligence regarding an ISI-backed network active in the Delhi-NCR region.

Authorities uncovered that the network recruited local individuals to obtain SIM cards, which were subsequently transported to Pakistan via Dubai. These Indian numbers were then used to activate WhatsApp accounts, enabling Pakistani operatives to infiltrate Indian WhatsApp groups and gather sensitive information. Sahil's arrest followed a forensic analysis of his phone, revealing communications with Pakistani agents. He admitted to being introduced to a Pakistani agent on Instagram in 2024 through Sameera.

Interrogation revealed that Sahil was tasked with conducting reconnaissance of cantonment areas and gathering details on Army personnel facing court-martial proceedings. Sameera was subsequently arrested for her role in facilitating the transfer of Indian SIM cards. Both accused individuals had WhatsApp conversations with their handlers, with two mobile phones recovered. The investigation is ongoing to ascertain the network's structure and its connections with local operatives and sleeper cells.
