Daycare Accused of 'Fight Club' and Child Assault

A Fort Worth family is seeking $1 million in damages from Arka Montessori Academy, alleging a daycare employee created a "child fight club" and physically assaulted their 4-year-old son. The lawsuit, filed on September 4, details an April 27 incident where a substitute teacher, Chynia Johnson, allegedly encouraged her son to attack another child, identified as U.H. The complaint states Johnson then physically assaulted U.H. herself, including grabbing his wrist and pulling his leg to force him to the floor. Video footage reportedly shows a regular teacher, Jacqueline De Luna, observing the altercation without intervening. U.H. sustained bruises, scratches, and has developed lasting emotional anxiety from the alleged abuse. The family also alleges the daycare was aware of Johnson's aggressive behavior prior to the incident. A subsequent investigation by Texas Health and Human Services resulted in four citations against the academy for violations, including improper discipline and prohibited punishments. The lawsuit emphasizes that parents expect safe environments free from yelling, physical restraint, and forced fights.
