Summary
- Daycare director embezzled $2.8 million from tuition.
- Funds were used for wrestling tickets and vacations.
- The fraud was discovered in October 2025.

Murielle Misczak, the former director of KinderHaus Brooklyn, was arrested on Wednesday morning and charged with wire fraud and money laundering. Prosecutors allege she stole $2.8 million from the German-language immersion day care, which serves approximately 100 children with ties to Switzerland and Germany.
Misczak, a Swiss citizen, reportedly used the stolen funds for lavish personal expenses. This included at least $350,000 spent on deluxe World Wrestling Entertainment event packages for herself and her three children. Other alleged expenditures included luxury vacations and food delivery services.
The scheme came to light in October 2025 when the day care's founder, Simona D'Souza, discovered that tuition payments were being rerouted to Misczak's personal PayPal accounts. Federal authorities stated that Misczak made over 450 fraudulent payments to herself across more than three years. Misczak has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
