- He was stopped at a random breath test in Maroubra, Sydney.
- Warner will appear in Downing Centre local court on May 7.

Cricket star David Warner is facing legal proceedings after being charged with a drink-driving offense. The incident occurred on Easter Sunday when Warner was allegedly stopped at a random breath testing unit in Maroubra, Sydney.
Police allege Warner was driving a van that stopped short of the testing site. Officers approached the vehicle and administered a breath test, which returned a positive result. Warner was subsequently arrested and taken to Maroubra police station for further testing, where he allegedly registered a blood alcohol reading of 0.104.
This charge comes as Warner concludes a successful period playing for the Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League, and following a record-breaking Big Bash season with the Sydney Thunder. He will face Downing Centre local court on May 7 to address the drink-driving charge.
Warner has a storied career, being one of Australia's most destructive batsmen until his retirement from Test cricket in 2024. However, his career has also seen past controversies, including a ball-tampering scandal and an altercation in 2013.
