21 Jul
Summary
- Victim's face was unrecognizable due to decomposition and slippage.
- Remains found dismembered in bags inside the singer's Tesla trunk.
- Prosecutors allege singer killed teen over threat to expose relationship.

During the preliminary hearing on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, prosecutors presented graphic photos of Celeste Rivas Hernandez's remains, which were found in the front trunk of a Tesla registered to singer D4vd (David Burke). Detectives testified that the 14-year-old victim's face was unrecognizable due to severe decomposition and skin slippage. Her dismembered torso was found in one bag, with arms and legs in another.
Prosecutors allege D4vd, 21, stabbed Rivas Hernandez multiple times after she threatened to expose their sexual relationship, which could have damaged his career. Her remains were discovered on September 8, 2025, seven months before D4vd's arrest in April 2026. He has pleaded not guilty to charges including first-degree murder and unlawful mutilation of human remains.
The hearing, expected to last several days, will determine if there is sufficient evidence for the case to proceed to trial. Rivas Hernandez was last seen on April 23, 2025. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office determined her cause of death was "multiple penetrating injuries caused by object(s)."
