- Dennis had a 17-month suspended sentence for a fatal car incident.

Olympic cyclist Rohan Dennis, who received a 17-month suspended sentence in May 2025 for a fatal incident involving his wife, has reappeared on social media. His recent posts, including one describing a Porsche as an "absolute weapon" and another showing his children, have drawn significant backlash.
Sarah Quick, South Australia's commissioner for victims' rights, characterized Dennis's posts as "deeply offensive" and indicative of a "clear lack of insight" into the harm caused. She added they showed "profound lack of respect" for his late wife, Melissa Hoskins.
Dennis had previously pleaded guilty to an aggravated act likely to cause harm. The court heard Hoskins had been on the bonnet of his car before falling as he accelerated. He was not criminally responsible for her death.
Following the criticism, Dennis appeared to delete his entire Instagram account. His earlier posts had also included a screenshot of a journalist's contact details and a video of reporters outside his residence.
