- Court referred case for action, citing serious nature of allegations.
A special MCOCA court is investigating serious allegations of custodial torture made by an arrested individual, Ali Husain Ali Hasan Khan. Khan, booked by Sakinaka police in a violent robbery case invoking MCOCA, claimed he was assaulted for three days, including harm to his genitalia. The court ordered an immediate medical examination at Sir JJ Hospital.
The medical report documented multiple injuries, including a 6x7 cm burn to the scrotum and swelling on his hands and feet. Doctors also noted genital redness and skin lesions. Although an ultrasound and CT scan showed no major internal trauma, further urology assessment was advised.
Taking a serious view, the judge referred the case with all reports to the principal judge for appropriate action. The court explicitly stated it was not determining responsibility at this stage but emphasized the need for a thorough investigation into the serious allegations. Khan was remanded to judicial custody until October 12.
