A shocking case of extreme violence has emerged from the UAE, where convicted cryptocurrency fraudster Roman Novak and his wife, Anna, were allegedly tortured and murdered. The couple vanished on October 2 after being lured to the Hatta resort area by individuals posing as investors interested in Novak's crypto ventures, which reportedly attracted £380 million in investment.
Investigators believe the kidnappers intended to seize this fortune. After the couple's remains were discovered in the Hajar mountains, a large-scale search operation was conducted. Russian authorities revealed that the couple was forced to witness each other's torture as captors attempted to gain access to their cryptocurrency wallets, which were found to be empty.
Three Russian citizens, identified as former police officer Konstantin Shakht, Yury Sharypov, and Vladimir Dalekin, have been arrested in Russia after returning from the UAE. Sharypov and Dalekin have reportedly confessed to their involvement. The investigation is ongoing, with officials suggesting more arrests may follow as they work to uncover the full network behind this high-profile international murder case.
