A serious incident occurred at Carleton Crematorium in Poulton-le-Fyde, Blackpool, on Tuesday evening around 18:45 BST. A woman, in her 30s, was subjected to an attack resulting in multiple stab wounds. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries that were deemed non-life-threatening. Fortunately, she was well enough to be discharged and sent home.
Responding officers quickly apprehended a man, also in his 30s, on suspicion of attempted murder. He was taken into custody for questioning on Low Moor Road, which is in the vicinity of the crematorium. Detectives revealed that the victim and the arrested suspect were known to one another. The investigation is actively continuing, with police urging anyone who may have witnessed the event or possesses relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.
