COVID Fraud Fugitives Nabbed in Global Manhunt

Two individuals with connections to South Florida, previously listed among the FBI's Most Wanted Fraudsters, were apprehended this week. Elaine Escoe, 41, was wanted for an alleged conspiracy that fraudulently obtained more than $32 million in federal COVID-19 relief funds. She was captured in Jamaica after authorities received a tip and was returned to South Florida on Saturday.
Khalid Ahmed Satary, accused in a $547 million healthcare fraud conspiracy and having ties to Delray Beach, was found and apprehended by regional partners in the Middle East on July 20. Satary was found with a fake Mexican passport. Between 2016 and 2019, he allegedly billed Medicare for unnecessary genetic tests and later conspired with labs to submit fraudulent claims while on bond.
