- Preliminary findings suggest the deaths were due to domestic disputes.
- The couple's infant daughter was asleep with grandparents.
A tragic incident unfolded in Bundi's Kotwali area on Sunday morning when a married couple was found deceased inside their locked first-floor bedroom. The victims were identified as tailor Abdul Hanif, 40, and his wife Roshan, 38. Their nine-month-old daughter was unharmed, sleeping with her grandparents on the ground floor.
Panic ensued when a relative, unable to access the locked room, eventually looked through a window, discovering Roshan hanging from a ceiling fan and Abdul Hanif lying on the floor with a blood-stained wrist. Police responded promptly, breaking down the door and collecting forensic evidence.
Preliminary reports suggest the couple died by suicide due to domestic disputes and health concerns. Circle Inspector Ramesh Arya stated that Roshan suffered from thyroid problems, and the couple frequently argued. Hanif reportedly slit his wrist, while Roshan used a dupatta to hang herself. A case under Section 194 of the BNSS for suspicious death was registered.
