Stephanie Hamburg, 45, and her boyfriend, Timothy Hulsey, 50, were convicted of criminally negligent homicide by an Anchorage Superior Court jury. The conviction stems from the 2017 malnutrition death of Hulsey's 2-year-old daughter, Gabriella Marlow.
Prosecutors stated the child died from severe malnutrition, with her diet largely consisting of whole milk. The jury acquitted Hamburg and Hulsey of the more serious felony manslaughter charges, focusing instead on negligent homicide.
Hamburg had reportedly told authorities she avoided seeking medical attention for Gabriella due to concerns about intervention from the Office of Children's Services. Sentencing for the pair is slated for April 17.
