Summary
- Surveillance videos show Kohberger shopping after murdering 4 Idaho students
- Kohberger pleaded guilty to 4 counts of murder and 1 count of burglary
- Motive remains a mystery, but Kohberger's acquaintances speculate he wanted to see if he could get away with the crimes

In October 2025, newly released surveillance videos have shed light on the movements of convicted killer Bryan Kohberger in the aftermath of the brutal murders of four University of Idaho students in November 2022. The footage, obtained by various news outlets, shows Kohberger, now 30 years old, being turned away from a Costco store for not having a membership card, as well as browsing and using a self-checkout register at another location.
Additional surveillance videos, which police said they would have used as evidence during a trial against Kohberger before he pleaded guilty in July 2023, show the 30-year-old's white Hyundai Elantra in multiple locations before and after the murders. Kohberger was charged with four counts of first-degree murder and one count of felony burglary for the slayings of Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle, Madison Mogen, and Ethan Chapin.
