Colonel Thrashed, Robbed After Road Mishap Near Gurgaon

A retired Army colonel reported being severely beaten and robbed following a minor traffic accident near Vatika Chowk on Faridabad Road. The incident occurred Sunday night when his SUV collided with another car. According to his complaint, the occupants of the other vehicle dragged him out, assaulted him, and damaged his SUV.
He further alleged that the youths forced him to transfer Rs 30,000 via UPI as compensation for the damage. The victim sustained injuries to his head and face and was admitted to Medanta Hospital, where his condition was reported as not critical. Police have arrested five youths in connection with the assault and extortion.
The accused, all from Rewari and Mahendergarh, were reportedly attending a wedding in Badshapur prior to the incident. An FIR has been registered against them under various sections of the BNS, including voluntarily causing hurt, rioting, and extortion. A relative of the accused claimed the colonel was at fault for the collision.
