The fatal attack occurred on Sunday morning, reportedly fueled by the discovery of her extramarital affair. The perpetrator allegedly posted a disturbing selfie with the deceased's body on WhatsApp, accompanied by a chilling message about betrayal.
The victim, 30, had left her husband four months prior due to marital discord and had moved to Coimbatore for work. She left their two children with the accused. The investigation revealed that the victim had developed a relationship with a relative of her husband. Tensions escalated when the husband confronted her about the affair and she refused to reconcile.
Further enraging the husband, an intimate photo of the victim and her lover was sent to him. In a fit of rage, he attacked her with a sickle at her hostel. The Rathinapuri police quickly responded, arresting the accused at the scene and initiating a murder investigation.
