She was apprehended in 2017 with 5.8kg of cocaine hidden in her luggage while attempting to fly from Colombia to Australia. At 22, she initially claimed ignorance but later admitted knowledge of the drugs, pleading guilty and asserting she was duped into the operation. Sainsbury also mentioned that she forgot the passcode to her phone, which contained potential evidence.
Sainsbury already holds a Colombian criminology degree, though it is not recognized in Australia. This career shift follows recent accusations of causing customer injury at her Adelaide beauty clinic, Luxe Body Contour, a claim she disputes, stating appropriate qualifications and consent protocols were followed.
