A violent carjacking on January 2, 2026, left a Cleveland woman critically injured and her young son traumatized. The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. when 38-year-old Tiffany Muscatell was targeted while en route to her mother's house with her son.
The assailant brandished a gun, forcing Muscatell to the ground and ordering her to exit the vehicle with her child. Amidst the struggle, Muscatell was shot in the face, and her son was then removed from the car and left on the ground.
Muscatell was transported to Metro Health Medical Center, where she received over a dozen stitches for her facial wound. Police located the stolen vehicle shortly after the carjacking, but the suspect is still at large, prompting concern within the Detroit Shoreway community.
