Newly released police records reveal that Thomas Jacob Sanford, the gunman responsible for a deadly attack on a Michigan church, made a 911 call reporting bomb threats just minutes before his assault.
Sanford called emergency services at 10:21 AM, approximately four minutes before the attack began. The caller, identified as Sanford, spoke of bomb threats towards local churches, with a particular mention of Mormon churches. The call originated from a vehicle less than a mile from the Grand Blanc LDS church.
The violence commenced at 10:25 AM when Sanford drove his truck into the chapel, subsequently opening fire and igniting a blaze. Police responded and killed Sanford in a shootout. The attack claimed the lives of four churchgoers and left eight others injured.
