Drugs and Bail Jumping Charges After Parking Lot Incident
6 Jul
Summary
- Man charged with four counts of possessing drugs and four counts of bail jumping.
- Police found meth, fentanyl, and ecstasy in the vehicle.
- Defendant was out on bond for previous drug offenses.
A Chippewa Falls resident, Nicholas B. Knitter, 32, has been charged with four counts of drug possession and four counts of bail jumping. The charges stem from an incident on June 26, where police responded to a call of a driver passed out in a vehicle at the Dollar Tree parking lot.
Upon arrival, officers found Knitter asleep behind the wheel. A search of his vehicle revealed tinfoil with burn marks, indicative of drug use. Officers discovered multiple illegal substances, including meth, fentanyl, and ecstasy, along with other drug paraphernalia.
Knitter was reportedly out of jail on bond for prior drug-related offenses, which included a condition not to use illegal drugs. His previous charges in May involved possessing illegally obtained prescriptions, and he also has an open case for child neglect and maintaining a drug trafficking place.
He is currently being held in the Chippewa County Jail on a $7,000 cash bond and is scheduled to appear in court again on Tuesday before Judge Steve Gibbs.
