A tragic incident unfolded in Delta Township on February 13 when a suspect, driving a vehicle, intentionally struck a family out for a walk before initiating a shooting.
The violent encounter, which began around 5:30 p.m. near Green Meadows Drive and Farmstead Lane, resulted in the death of a young child and serious injuries to three other individuals. A bystander who attempted to intervene was also severely injured.
Authorities reported that a 72-year-old woman is currently in critical condition. Two other victims, a 37-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman, are hospitalized and listed in stable condition.
The suspect was taken into custody on February 13 and is being held at the Eaton County Jail. The Eaton County Prosecutor's office will determine the charges. Investigators are treating this as an isolated event with no further threat to the public.
