A shocking case of alleged child abuse has emerged from Suryapet, Telangana, where a couple, Ravi and Indu, were arrested for allegedly inflicting severe physical abuse on their two young sons, Dhanush (5) and Revanth (2). Neighbors alerted authorities after hearing the children's distressed cries and noticing visible injuries. The children were found to have multiple burn marks, scratches, and the younger child had suffered a fractured wrist.
Preliminary inquiries suggest the abuse had been ongoing for several days, involving branding with heated objects and cigarette burns. Ravi, a truck driver, reportedly separated from his first wife nearly a decade ago and married Indu four years ago. During questioning, the couple allegedly admitted to viewing the children as hindrances to their personal freedom and expressed their frustration by inflicting harm.
The children have been moved to a government-run children's home in Suryapet for their safety and care. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the couple under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Juvenile Justice Act. They are set to be produced before a court for remand.
