In a shocking incident on Tuesday, three members of a family were brutally murdered with an axe in Jhal village, Chhattisgarh. The deceased include a 62-year-old woman, a 36-year-old man, and a nine-year-old boy. Two other family members, a 65-year-old man and a pregnant 30-year-old woman, sustained severe injuries and are in critical condition.
The alleged perpetrator, identified as 26-year-old Tulsi Sarthi, a neighbor and relative, reportedly broke into the family's home in the early hours and launched a sudden, violent assault while they were asleep.
Police apprehended the accused shortly after the incident. The weapon, an axe believed to be used in the crime, was recovered from a nearby forest pond. Preliminary investigations suggest a deeply rooted dispute between the two families, with tensions reportedly escalating over the past five years.
Authorities have registered a case and are continuing their investigation, examining all possible motives behind the horrific attack. Post-mortem examinations have been completed for the deceased.
