In Chennai, a 57-year-old woman has been arrested for murdering her husband, whom she claims subjected her to constant abuse. The incident occurred after a quarrel escalated while the husband, Santhanam, was intoxicated.
Ambika, the victim's wife, admitted to stabbing Santhanam with a kitchen knife during the argument. She then concealed his body within their rented home for several days.
Eventually, she transported the body to a sewer near their residence in Anna Nagar East and left it there. Locals discovered the decomposed body, prompting a police investigation.
Investigators analyzed neighborhood CCTV footage, which captured Ambika dragging a heavy bag toward the sewer on the night of March 5. This evidence led to her identification and subsequent arrest. She has been remanded in judicial custody.
