Chennai Burglars Caught, Tied to Pole by Locals

In Chinmaya Nagar, Chennai, a group of four individuals attempted a brazen overnight burglary at a lathe workshop, successfully stealing an air conditioning unit, a television, and other items. Their plan involved fencing the stolen goods for cash to purchase alcohol, which they consumed throughout the night.
The scheme unraveled the following morning when one of the apprehended burglars, Thameem Ansari, returned to the scene of the crime seeking forgiveness. Upon discovering the missing electronics, workshop staff and local residents apprehended Ansari. Acting on information provided by him, the accomplices were quickly located and detained nearby.
The captured thieves were subjected to public chastisement, tied to a pole and beaten by the angry crowd before being transferred to the Koyambedu police station. Authorities have registered a case and are continuing their investigation into the incident.
