Schoolyard Brawl Turns Deadly: Teen Murdered

A violent schoolyard altercation in Thiruvottiyur, Chennai, has resulted in the death of a Class XII student. Dhanush, 16, was assaulted by a group of Class XI students, succumbing to his injuries.
The fatal incident stemmed from an argument on school premises on August 13 between Dhanush and a Class XI student. Despite an intervention by the school headmaster, the dispute escalated.
The following evening, the Class XI student and his peers confronted Dhanush in a vacant plot, where they attacked him. He was later found unconscious and declared dead at a government hospital.
Following a complaint by Dhanush's mother, police detained twelve juveniles, all students at the same school, for questioning regarding the assault and murder.
