Chennai Student Attacked After Rejecting Proposal

A shocking incident occurred in Nerkundram, Chennai, on Sunday night when a second-year BCom student, Sharmila, was allegedly pushed off her rooftop by a 25-year-old man. The man, identified as Silambarasan, had reportedly been stalking Sharmila for several months after she spurned his love proposals. On the night of the attack, while Sharmila was on the rooftop, Silambarasan, who was intoxicated, climbed from an adjacent building and violently pushed her.
Sharmila sustained severe injuries, including hip fractures, and was immediately rushed to a private hospital, where she is currently in the intensive care unit. Alert neighbors witnessed the assault, intervened, and handed the perpetrator over to the Koyambedu police. The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident.
