In a swift operation, Chennai police have arrested three individuals in connection with a violent robbery that occurred on Thirumalai Pillai Road, T Nagar. The victim, 18-year-old college student Rishikarthik, was reportedly verbally abused, assaulted with stones and a helmet, and had his gold chain forcibly snatched.
The accused trio, identified as Dhanush (23), Sham (21), and Joseph (19), all from Ayanavaram, were apprehended shortly after the incident. Police successfully recovered the stolen 1.5-sovereign gold chain, three mobile phones, and the two-wheeler used to facilitate their escape.
Rishikarthik, who sustained injuries during the assault, was treated at Royapettah Government Hospital. He subsequently filed a complaint, leading to the swift investigation and arrest of the suspects. Investigations revealed that one of the arrested, Dhanush, has a prior theft case registered against him.
