Charity center smashed: £10k damage to vital community hub

A local charity center, vital for supporting individuals with social isolation and mental health issues, has been severely vandalized, with damages estimated to be over £10,000. The attack saw doors ripped off sheds, a greenhouse smashed, and polytunnels destroyed, leaving the garden in disarray. Children's toys were also reportedly destroyed and burned.

Martin Drury, the center's manager, expressed the profound impact of the vandalism, noting that many visitors and volunteers rely on the center for a safe space, educational courses, and social interaction. He highlighted the extensive damage to the facilities, which included the destruction of children's play areas and garden features.

The community has responded with an outpouring of support for the charity, offering messages of encouragement and donations to aid in the recovery. Local council leader Graham Morgan has pledged support, working with the police to identify those responsible for the "unbelievable and devastating" act.
