Summary
- Accused posed as Animal Husbandry official for loan bribes.
- Demanded 45,000 rupees for clearing a 22.5 lakh loan.
- CBI traced imposter through QR code and bank accounts.

Prabhu Dayal has been arrested by the CBI for impersonating an official from the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying. He allegedly demanded bribes from individuals applying for loans under the Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund (AHIDF).
A poultry farm owner in Udham Singh Nagar reported that Dayal, posing as Rishi Gupta, demanded Rs 45,000, which is 2% of a Rs 22.5 lakh loan, for clearing his application.
The CBI set a trap and Dayal allegedly accepted Rs 5,000 via QR code. Initially, another individual was arrested, but investigations revealed Dayal was the main perpetrator.
He reportedly accessed loan application details and contacted applicants daily, demanding money. Dayal frequently changed locations across Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur, and used multiple UPI-linked accounts to evade detection.
Following analysis of call records, bank accounts, and IP addresses, investigators traced Dayal to his residence in Agra district, Uttar Pradesh, and arrested him on July 19. Incriminating documents were seized from his home. The investigation is ongoing.
