A 47-year-old woman, Rashi Chhabria, was arrested by Juhu police on May 21, 2026, for allegedly stealing jewelry and luxury watches valued at Rs 25 lakh from the residence of Bollywood actor Raveena Tandon's brother. Chhabria had reportedly gained the family's trust over several years, working as a caretaker for Raveena's elderly mother. The theft came to light in October 2025 when the Tandon family discovered their safe broken open and several valuables missing.
According to the complaint filed by Rajiv Tandon, Chhabria, who had access to the second floor of the residence, initially denied the accusations but later confessed to returning two watches. She claimed the jewelry was handed over to an associate named Jagdish, who promised its return, but it has not been recovered. The complaint also detailed allegations of a threat from Chhabria's associate, who reportedly warned of a false narcotics case if demands for the jewelry continued.
Chhabria was remanded to police custody until May 29, 2026, as the investigation into the recovery of the stolen jewelry continues. The accused had reportedly developed close ties with the family since 2020, following personal losses.
