In addition to the fatality, two other individuals sustained injuries from falls during the chaos. Authorities recovered a firearm, a bladed weapon, and ammunition from the location.
President Claudia Sheinbaum expressed deep sorrow over the events and offered solidarity to the victims and their families. Mexican authorities confirmed they are in communication with the Canadian embassy. The Teotihuacán pyramids, located just north of Mexico City, are a major tourist attraction visited by millions annually.
