- Killer sought arrest at MI5 headquarters prior to the fatal attacks.
- Calocane stalked former flatmate on multiple occasions post-cohabitation.
A former flatmate of triple killer Valdo Calocane has shared his experiences of fear during the ongoing public inquiry into the 2023 Nottingham attacks. The flatmate, identified as Sebastian, recounted an incident in July 2021 where Calocane aggressively grabbed him and pushed him against a wall, uttering confusing threats. This aggressive behavior prompted Sebastian to move out of their shared accommodation.
Sebastian also detailed two separate occasions where Calocane followed him home after they no longer lived together. He reported the incidents to the police, who classified the behavior as stalking. Previously, Calocane was described as relatively quiet with no obvious mental health issues. The inquiry further revealed that Calocane had visited MI5 headquarters in London, requesting to be arrested before the attacks occurred.
The Nottingham Inquiry is hearing evidence from over 100 witnesses regarding the events leading up to the June 2023 attacks, in which Calocane killed Ian Coates, Barnaby Webber, and Grace O'Malley Kumar, and seriously injured three others. Calocane was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia in July 2020.
