Angelica Brophy, a dedicated ER nurse and mother of two, vanished more than a week ago in California. She was last seen entering Palomar Mountain State Park on July 6, after visiting a casino earlier that day. Her vehicle was discovered on July 9 within the park, containing her purse, wallet, phone, and passport.
Extensive search operations involving dive teams, law enforcement, and volunteers have been conducted. However, as of Tuesday, July 16, the Oceanside Police Department has paused its physical search participation, stating that all available resources have been utilized.
Brophy's family and friends are continuing to seek information and answers regarding her disappearance. Her brother, Rafael Fabregas, indicated the family is considering all possibilities, including the need for rescue or abduction, while expressing disbelief that she would cause harm to herself.
Her colleague, Ashley Seitz, noted that it was unusual for Brophy to leave her phone behind if she were going hiking for safety reasons, but acknowledged she might have wanted to clear her head.
