Businessman Rattan Chand, also known as Rattan Lubana, has petitioned the Punjab and Haryana high court for enhanced armed police protection. He claims to have faced extortion demands and survived two violent attacks, alleging connections to organized criminal gangs, including those linked to Goldy Brar and Rohit Godara.
Lubana reported an explosive attack outside a Chandigarh club on November 26, 2024, and a subsequent shooting incident in Panchkula on June 3-4, 2026, where he sustained two firearm injuries. Despite receiving two police gunmen, he deems his current security insufficient for the ongoing threats.
The court heard that a threat assessment for Lubana had been completed, and security personnel were already deployed. Furthermore, his latest request for enhanced protection is currently under review. The administrations of Haryana and Chandigarh have pledged to file their responses following the completion of this assessment.
