Summary
- A family business experienced two break-ins within a week.
- The incidents caused an estimated £10,000 worth of damage.

A family-run hospitality business is facing significant distress following two separate break-ins within an eight-day period. The East Boldon location was targeted on December 9th, around 02:00 GMT, where the front door was smashed, and the interior was ransacked. Criminals reportedly stole the safe, dragged it to a nearby park, and then forced it open to take cash.
Just days later, on Wednesday morning around 01:30 GMT, the business's Grade II listed tram shelter venue in Seaburn, Sunderland, became the second target. Two offenders broke through the front door, stealing a till drawer and a quantity of alcohol before fleeing in a vehicle. The total damage is estimated to be around £10,000.
Operations director Jonathan Dryden described the incidents as devastating, highlighting the months of hard work undone in minutes. He noted the impact on livelihoods, especially at this time of year. The business, which has operated for over eight years and employs approximately 60 people, received strong support from customers and staff, many of whom helped with the extensive cleanup.
