Authorities in Burke County are investigating the deaths of four individuals found at two separate residences. The victims, whose identities have not yet been released, were aged between 25 and 45 years old. The discovery of two deceased females at a residence on Tom Bargeron Road followed the earlier finding of a deceased male and female at a Twin Lakes Drive home.
Investigators identified Adolphus Christopher Morris as a suspect in connection with the incidents. A pursuit ensued when deputies attempted a traffic stop. Morris reportedly drove through stop sticks and later crashed into a tree in Sardis, Georgia. He then allegedly fired at deputies, who returned fire, resulting in his death. His grandmother, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was unharmed. An independent response team is now investigating the officer-involved shooting, and the Burke County Sheriff's office noted Morris had been a suspect in prior investigations.
