BTS Ticket Scam: Fan Arrested for Selling Fake Tickets

Authorities have arrested an individual for allegedly defrauding BTS fans through the online sale of duplicated concert tickets. The suspect, identified as Shai, was apprehended after a complainant reported purchasing a ticket for P14,200, only to find out it was sold to several other people.
The victim first saw the offer on X on June 11, 2026, and paid an initial P10,000, with the balance due at their meet-up. However, she learned on July 17, 2026, that the same ticket had been sold to another buyer. Investigations revealed the suspect allegedly victimized at least five other individuals with identical ticket details.
The suspect faces charges for Swindling/Estafa and violation of the Cybercrime Prevention Act. Due to the use of information technology, the penalty is increased. The ACG director warned the public about scammers exploiting BTS fans and advised purchasing tickets only from verified sources and avoiding advance payments without seller verification.
