Police sources confirmed Monday that the owner of a black 2021 Ford Explorer was located. This individual has stated he is seeking legal counsel and has declined to answer questions. The SUV has been impounded as investigators analyze surveillance footage to determine if the owner was the driver at the time of the incident.
Underwood, 33, a performer on Nickelodeon's "All That," tragically died after being struck in Brownsville on Friday morning. She was crossing Pitkin Avenue and Mother Gaston Boulevard in a crosswalk against a red light when the SUV driver, who was reportedly passing another vehicle with a green light, veered into her path. Surveillance video shows the SUV striking Underwood and failing to stop or slow down.
