A grim discovery in Athens has resulted in the arrest of a foreign national in connection with the death of a 38-year-old British woman. Her body was found stuffed inside a suitcase in an abandoned building in the Kypseli neighborhood on July 18. Authorities determined she had been deceased for eight days prior to the discovery.
The Hellenic Police identified and arrested a 26-year-old foreign man, who has since been charged with manslaughter, robbery, and violation of weapons laws. During interrogation, the suspect confessed to placing the victim's body in the suitcase and transporting it to the abandoned site. He also admitted to using the victim's bank cards to withdraw money from her accounts.
Searches at the suspect's residence uncovered a replica pistol and a knife, leading to the weapons charge. The Hellenic Police collaborated closely with their British and Scottish counterparts throughout the investigation.
