A British businessman, identified as 33-year-old investment advisor Jordan Wright, was found dead in a canal on the popular Thai holiday island of Phuket. His body was discovered floating face-down in a drainage ditch near Bang Tao Beach on March 14, 2026, by a local worker.
Authorities were alerted and responded to the scene. Wright, who was from Basildon, Essex, was barefoot and wearing a grey shirt and black pants. His new iPhone 17 was found on the bank nearby.
Initial police checks revealed no visible signs of assault. A key card for the Hotel COCO Phuket Bangtao was found in his pocket. Hotel records indicated Wright had checked in alone and was scheduled to check out on March 13, 2026, but never did.
CCTV footage showed Wright appearing restless and pacing in front of the hotel before leaving the area. The exact cause of death is undetermined as police await autopsy results from Vachira Phuket Hospital, which will also test for the presence of drugs. The investigation is ongoing.
