A 47-year-old housing association worker, Eleanor Barnfield, passed away in the hospital following a car crash on Coity Road in Bridgend. Her vehicle collided with a wall on Monday afternoon.
Authorities have charged 61-year-old Clifford Foster of Bridgend with murder in connection with Ms. Barnfield's death. Police emphasized that the investigation is not treating the incident as a domestic matter.
Ms. Barnfield was found with "puncture wounds unrelated to the collision," which are allegedly the result of a stabbing. She was conveyed by road to the hospital after receiving advanced critical care.
Her family described Eleanor as the "kindest, most loving bravest person in the world," stating she meant everything to them and would be deeply missed.
Officials refuted claims circulating on social media regarding a delayed ambulance response, calling them factually untrue. Proceedings are now active as Mr. Foster is due to appear at Newport Magistrates' Court on Friday.
