A wedding celebration in Brazil turned into a tragedy when the bride, Nájylla Duenas Nascimento, 34, was fatally shot by her husband on their wedding night. The incident occurred on Saturday, May 9. According to the Civil Police, a heated argument between Nascimento and her husband, Daniel Barbosa Marinho, escalated into a physical altercation.
Marinho, who has been a member of the Municipal Guard since 1998, allegedly used his service weapon to shoot his wife. While the initial shots were not fatal, he is accused of returning to the scene later to fire at her again. Emergency services were called, but Nascimento was pronounced dead during her own wedding reception.
Family members present at the reception managed to safely escort the children away from the residence.
