On the evening of November 10th, 2025, a group of masked robbers targeted a jewelry store in Madera, California, making off with an estimated $170,000 worth of high-value merchandise. The brazen heist unfolded just after 7 pm local time at Olivia's Fine Jewellery, moments after customers had left the premises.
Surveillance footage shows around five suspects, dressed in black with their faces covered, rushing through the front door and heading straight for the display cases. Some appeared to be carrying tools believed to have been used to break through the protective glass. One suspect remained at the entrance, acting as a lookout.
As the thieves vaulted over the counters and began scooping up the jewelry, an employee behind the counter immediately ran for safety. However, the store owner, who had been in a back room, emerged and opened fire, discharging three to five shots towards the robbers.
The group scrambled, falling over one another as they bolted out the door and onto the sidewalk. The owner then moved to the entrance, firing additional warning shots as the suspects sprinted away into the night. Fortunately, none of the bullets struck anyone during the incident.
Despite the owner's brave actions, the thieves nevertheless managed to escape with the estimated $170,000 worth of stolen jewelry. Madera police have since recovered the suspects' getaway vehicle, which was abandoned outside the city limits. Authorities are actively investigating the incident and reviewing surveillance footage from neighboring businesses.
