A 13-year-old boy in Bengaluru, M Prajwal, was tragically murdered after being tricked into participating in a fake kidnap video. The alleged mastermind, Wala Bhaskar Reddy, convinced Prajwal to act out ransom scenarios, intending to extort Rs 1 crore from his parents. Prajwal was lured away on the pretext of buying crackers and learning to drive.
During the drive and at an isolated location, Prajwal was coerced into performing fearful acts for video recordings. Shortly after filming, Prajwal was attacked and killed with a wooden log and bricks by Reddy and his accomplice, Edukondalavadu. The plan was to use the videos to pressure the father for ransom.
Authorities discovered Prajwal's body concealed in the boot of Reddy's car following a road accident on Ballari Road. The crash prompted local intervention, leading to the vehicle's search and the arrests of both suspects. One accomplice confessed after initially fabricating a story about an assault.
