Bounty Hunter's Son Fired After Deadly High-Speed Chase

On September 6th, 2025, a tragic incident occurred in Hartselle, Alabama that led to the termination of Garry Chapman, the son of famous reality TV star "Dog the Bounty Hunter". Chapman, who had joined the Priceville Police Department earlier this year, was involved in a high-speed chase that resulted in a fatal collision.

According to authorities, officers were pursuing Archie Hale, who was driving under the influence, when his vehicle crashed into a minivan carrying four teenagers. 17-year-old Tristan Hollis was killed in the accident, and six people were rushed to the hospital. Hale was later arrested and charged with murder, among other offenses.

Following an internal review, Priceville Mayor Sam Heflin upheld the decision to fire Chapman. However, the officer has appealed the termination, and a City Council hearing is scheduled for October 14th. Chapman's attorney, Scott Morro, argues that the officer followed the law and department policy during the pursuit, and hopes the City Council will recognize Chapman as an asset to the community and reinstate him.

The loss of Tristan Hollis has devastated his mother, Rachel Moore, who described him as her "only child". In a public statement, she asked for prayers for all those involved in the accident, including Archie Hale, the man responsible for her son's death.
