Louisiana rapper Boosie Badazz appeared in a Harris County courtroom on Monday, facing charges from an incident last month in downtown Houston. Real name Torrance Ivy Hatch Jr., the artist is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The accusation stems from an alleged assault on May 24, when Boosie is accused of striking a nightclub security guard with a glass hookah bottle.
The incident reportedly occurred when a woman was denied restroom access as the club was closing. Records indicate she became upset and then allegedly struck the guard before dropping her belongings. The guard was then allegedly hit by the rapper while retrieving the items, sustaining injuries that required eight staples. Following his court appearance, Boosie Badazz posted on social media, calling the event a "money grab." He was released on an $85,000 bond.
