The elderly victim had recently been readmitted to hospital due to an infection, where she sadly passed away after suffering a stroke. Her funeral was scheduled for the upcoming Monday.
Fifteen people lost their lives and forty were injured in the coordinated attack where Naveed Akram and his father, Sajid Akram, opened fire at a Hanukkah festival. Sajid Akram was killed by police at the scene. Naveed Akram has since been charged with 78 offenses, including 15 counts of murder and a terrorist act charge. He remains in custody as his legal proceedings continue.
