Body Found in River Sparks Outrage, Road Blockade

A 24-year-old man, identified as Pradeep Sahu, was found dead in the Subernarekha river, leading to significant public unrest. Sahu, a resident of Shyam Nagar, had been reported missing since November 29. His body was discovered floating in the river early Thursday morning and subsequently recovered by locals and police. The discovery prompted immediate outrage, with residents blocking a key road and demonstrating outside the Ulidih police station.

Family members of the deceased have filed a formal complaint against three local men, who have since been detained for questioning. Police are investigating the possibility that the murder, which they suspect involved a knife, stemmed from personal enmity. The protest by residents was eventually dispersed after authorities assured them of prompt and thorough action.
